WE NEED YOUR HELP!  The 2015 Point-in Time (PIT) Count is the largest scale count the County has ever undertaken and your help is needed to make sure every sheltered and unsheltered person is counted.

This is a massive effort requiring hundreds of caring volunteers who are willing to help in 3 ways:
  • Volunteer to do the Count directly
  • Donate needed emergency items
  • Give a financial donation

The first step to volunteering is signing up for a training.
Please note that we added an additional training on Monday.

MONDAY, January 26, 2015

Pleasant Hill, CA 94523
RSVP here.
The RSVP is simply to get a ball park of who will attend the trainings. Please feel free to attend any training that works for your schedule regardless of where you RSVP.

At the training we will provide background information on why we do an annual count, our new methodology for 2015, and tips for how to conduct the survey.

You WILL NOT be assigned to your volunteer site shifts UNTIL you attend a training and are provided with a toolkit to be used during the count. As a reminder, volunteers will conduct a brief point-in-time count survey at locations including: food distribution sites, multi-service centers, soup kitchen and dining halls, and health care facilities.

The 2015 count will take place on January 28, January 29, and January 30.

Emergency items are needed so outreach teams can help those most vulnerable.  We need bottle water, blankets, socks, hats, mittens, gloves, sleeping bags and toiletries.

We will collect all donations on Monday, January 26th. Please make arrangements with Mary for pick up.

Zero: 2016 Initiative

Community Solutions has selected our county to participate in the Zero: 2016 initiative. The homeless point-in-time count is the jumping off point for us to end chronic and veteran homelessness over the next two years. Stayed tuned for more info or visit the Community Solutions website here.
