Mark Your Calendar:
Lets Make Everyone Count!
January 28-30, 2015

We need YOUR help!

PLEASE join us in conducting a count of homeless individuals in our community,

Help gather incentives so the outreach teams can distribute critical items to those living on the streets such as bottled water, blankets, socks, hats, mittens, gloves, sleeping bags, and toiletries.
We hope you heard the news!

Our county has been accepted to participate in Zero: 2016! This initiative seeks to end chronic and veteran homelessness in our community in the next two years. It is our responsibility to meet our commitment and get involved NOW in the first phase of this effort.

This count provides a point in time snapshot of who is homeless in Contra Costa and is critical for developing a more responsive homeless system of care, tailoring programs to meet existing needs, receiving federal dollars and raising public awareness of homelessness.

The Multi-faith ACTION Coalition is thrilled to be strategic partners with the Contra Costa Health Services, the Council on Homelessness, service providers and the Ensuring Opportunity campaign to get to Zero in our community!

Mark your calendars to help during the days of January 28th, 29th, and 30th.

You will have the ability to sign up for a 3-4 hour time slot and location(s) where you will help conduct a brief point in time count survey. Locations will include: food distribution sites, multi-service centers, soup kitchen and dining halls, health care facilities. Volunteer training will be provided

Without the help of hundreds of volunteers, we will not get the accurate information we need.

For more questions, please contact Doug Leich at leichd@gmail.com or Jasmine Tarkoff at jtarkoff@aol.com

Wishing you many blessings this holiday season!
