Racial Justice

Racial Justice Working Group discussing tenant rights in Concord.

Racial injustices impact all barriers to self-sufficiency, so we established a working group that involves all of the Task Forces.  It seeks to support legislation and policy actions that reflect the many faith teachings that command we shall not make unjust laws, deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed.

The Multi-faith ACTION Coalition supports the Poor People’s Campaign and this statement:

We believe that people should not live in or die from poverty in the richest nation ever to exist.  Blaming the poor and claiming that the United States does not have an abundance of resources to overcome poverty are false narratives used to perpetuate economic exploitation, exclusion, and deep inequality.
