SAMPLE LETTER

I write in support of Trinity Center and their need to temporarily relocate to the location the Council approved. I understand that there has been some resistance by some local neighbors to this temporary move.  As I believe you are aware, Trinity Center, under the direction of Donna Colombo and the Episcopal Church, has been a life saver for many of Walnut Creek's most needy residents.  The work of the Trinity Center has always been of the highest possible caliber, and they are very aware of their need to be good neighbors.  Their work stands out as a guiding light for the cause of charity and support of the poor in the midst of a community that tends to serve citizens who are on the upper end of the income scale.
Let's not foster a NIMBY approach --"Not in my back yard" but transition to YIMBY -- "Yes, in my back yard."
Signed Walnut Creek Resident with your information or

* Trinity Center, currently located just a block from the Lesher Center in downtown Walnut Creek, is a day program serving homeless and working poor adults.  It offers safety-net services with breakfast and lunch, shower and laundry facilities, a food pantry and a clothing shed, care for pets, plus case management.  Trinity Center is part of the County Homeless Services Network and Housing Navigation Program with support from the City of Walnut Creek among others.

The buildings at the current location will be torn down to make way for the construction of a 44-unit inclusionary apartment building with space for Trinity Center to operate on the ground floor.  During the 20 months of construction, Trinity Center must relocate, and the Walnut Creek City Council approved the temporary space at 1271 S. California Blvd., but a neighbor is appealing.
PLEASE SHOW UP, SPEAK OR HOLD A SIGN, OR SEND AN EMAIL TO SUPPORT TRINITY CENTER LOCATING TEMPORARILY AT THIS SITE.
