Health Care Matters -- Let Your Voice Be Heard

We gathered with 500 people at two Health Care Town Halls in the last month. The number one question asked was, "What we can do to preserve health care for all?"

The Multi-faith ACTION Coalition advocates listened at the town halls, reviewed the current situation and are now taking action.  Your voice will make the impact stronger.  Join us!
If you weren't at a Town Hall, here is a link to watch one of them:

PLEASE TAKE THESE TWO ACTIONS

I am a member of the Multi-faith ACTION Coalition, a faith based group of citizens working together to address the root causes of poverty through advocacy and public policy change.

Recent statements indicated that replacing current healthcare programs is complicated and I agree.  As you have said we need to have insurance coverage for everybody, so I urge you to include the following provisions in the replacement plan:
  • No annual or lifetime caps on essential health benefits
  • Cover prevention care without a deductible
  • Cover people with pre-existing conditions
  • Let parents keep their children on their policies until they reach 26 years old
  • Make coverage affordable for all
  • Maintain Medicaid expansion
We all benefit when everyone has quality health care and coverage.  As it is written in  Deuteronomy 15:7-8, 11If there is among you anyone in need, a member of your community in any of your towns within the land that the Lord your God is giving you, do not be hard-hearted or tight-fisted toward your needy neighbor. You should rather open your hand, willingly lending enough to meet the need, whatever it may be. Since there will never cease to be some in need on the earth, I therefore command you, ‘Open your hand to the poor and needy neighbor in your land.'

#2 SHARE A STORY
Share your health care story or one of someone you know. These stories are shared with elected officials and the public to strengthen the message.  It is harder to take health care away from a person who has a name and face, then it is to repeal a law.  Let's remind them that real people depend on health care.  http://www.health-access.org/get-involved/submit-your-healthcare-story.html
