AB 2011 Opens Opportunites for Housing

Dear *|FNAME|*:
It has been challenging in California to build additional housing to address the severe shortage we face.  Our unhoused population is growing and more and more families are struggling to pay for the housing they have.  The need for more building is well documented.

The Affordable Housing and High Road Jobs Act (AB 2011) advances all of the state’s housing goals, allowing every community to build more climate-friendly, infill affordable housing for struggling families, seniors, workers, and veterans – while also growing a thriving, high- wage, middle-class construction workforce. It does so by making affordable housing by right on commercially zoned lands, and mixed-income housing by right along commercial corridors, as long as the projects meet specified affordability, labor, and environmental criteria. For more information go to FACT Sheet.

The Multi-faith ACTION Coalition strongly supports this legislation to create a win-win situation.  It will be voted on in the State Senate any day now. Please urge Senator Steve Glazer to vote in favor of the bill when it comes to the floor soon.
